IT’S TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE.
Meet Kristy, MSW, LCSW in Huntersville, NC
Let me guess:
You're here because you’re struggling, but you’re not exactly sure why.
Maybe you feel anxious, drained, or just off—like something isn’t right, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. You’ve tried to push through, make changes, and figure it out on your own, but nothing seems to stick.
You want to feel better. You just don’t know how.
That’s where I come in. Together, we’ll uncover what’s really going on and find a path forward that actually works—for you. You don’t have to do this alone. Let’s take the next step together.
you’re in the right spot.
APPROACH
In therapy I use cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and strengths-based perspectives, however, I work in creating a personalized approach to each client's individual treatment.
I believe in the therapeutic relationship being the foundation of our work with a strong, healthy, therapeutic alliance at the core. With this focus in my clinical work, I bring commitment, dedication, and compassion to my clients, working together on a journey toward long term change and personal growth.
You will see and hear me using a direct and honest approach in session and implementing wit and humor as appropriate, in assisting patients navigate these difficult times in their lives. Clients find these to be my most positive attributes, acknowledging my authenticity, candor, the ability to keep it real, and genuine nature in my therapeutic approach.
EXPERIENCE
I myself bring 20+ years of experience to the table, treating teens and adults. The organizations and individuals I have worked for have given me a multitude of vast experiences so I can better serve you and your unique needs.
I have had the pleasure of working alongside many talented therapists and psychiatrists at both of the Charlotte area's major healthcare systems; Novant Health and Atrium Health; formerly Carolinas Healthcare System. It is through these experiences that led to an increased vested interest in women’s overall physical and emotional health including pregnancy, Infertility, and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
I have also had unique eating disorder training and experience, working at The Renfrew Center, a facility known for being the first in eating disorder treatment. It was there that I provided treatment in the outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization levels of care in treating anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorders.
When Not At The Office
Outside of the therapy office, I enjoy time with my husband and 4 teenage children around the Lake Norman area. I enjoy regular kickboxing sessions and the community it provides, and am passionate about the impact that exercise has on emotional and physical wellbeing. I am also a huge proponent of fitness after 40; particularly after going through my own transformative health and wellness journey. I consider the Carolinas my forever home after being born and raised a Bostonian.
